Getting a coach's attention can be tough, but there are things that you can do to increase your chances. Even if you did not have the best high school or college career up until this point, there is still time to increase your skill level and construct a profile that will help get you noticed. If you have some ability, and you really are ready to commit to putting in the work there is a good chance that, with just a little luck, you will get you shot. The "trick" is to be ready when the spotlight is pointed in your direction.

"There are tremendous amounts of athletes every year that miss out on the opportunity to play college basketball. In many cases, it isn't because they aren't good enough but because coaches have never heard of them. Even as a Division 1 coach, it is impossible to know about every player out there. Athletes must take ownership of their own recruiting process just as they would anything else they want in life."

"The best advice I could provide to potential recruits is to have a detailed profile and be proactive in your communications with schools and coaches. Having a detailed profile with updated video was critical to my recruitment."

"I would encourage all prospects to reach out to multiple coaches. Having as many coaches interested in you as possible will increase your chances of being recruited as well as increase your scholarship opportunities."
